The Equity Bank (South Sudan) is one of the commercial banks in South Sudan. It is a 100% subsidiary of the Equity Bank Group. The Bank has operations in several countries including South Sudan, Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.

Paul Gitahi is the Executive Director of Equity Bank (South Sudan). Samuel Kirubi served as the Chief Operations Officer in Equity Bank South Sudan previously.

History

The Equity Bank ventured into banking services in South Sudan in 2008. They first made profits of nearly $1.6 million, out of their services in South Sudan in 2010.

On August 31, 2011, the Equity Bank (South Sudan) has opened a fully-fledged branch in Bilpam suburb of Juba. The Bilpam branch is opened by SPLA Deputy Chief of General Staff for Administration and Finance Lt. Gen Pieng Deng Kuol. Speaking on the occasion, Executive Director of the bank Paul Gitahi said "We want to thank the government, Central bank and people of South Sudan for their support and want to assure that we shall continue to research and develop products and services that address the needs and aspirations of our customers and the people of South Sudan"
