France expresses concern about continued fight between Sudan and SPLM-N
February 19, 2013
France has expressed concern at the continued fight between the Sudan forces and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement - North (SPLM-N). It asked for the two parties to allow humanitarian assistance to be delivered in the states of Blue Nile and Southern Kordofan. Back in August 2012, the two parties agreed to allow humanitarian assistance before the African Union, the Arab League and the United Nations.
France has expressed concern about the lack of progress to the September 27, 2012 agreement between the Sudan and South Sudan Governments about troops at the borders disputed by the two parties. It asked the two countries to abide by the establishment of demilitarized zone and to allow observers as set in the agreement.
