President Kiir in Kampala to participate in Uganda at 50 celebrations

The East African nation of Uganda is celebrating its Golden Jubilee. The celebrations, christened, “Uganda at 50 (1962-2012)”, will take place on the October 9, 2012 at National Celebrations Uhuru Grounds, Kololo – Kampala. The President of the Republic of South Sudan Salva Kiir Mayardit, together with a few national ministers has arrived at the Ugandan capital city of Kampala on Sunday, the October 7, 2012 to witness the celebrations.

President Kiir is also using the opportunity to participate in the 4th Extra-ordinary Summit of the Great Lakes Region at Kampala. The session will end on October 8, 2012 in Kampala. Also includes in the programme line-up for the President is to participate at the opening of Bujagali Hydro-power Dam at Jinja. The Dam is located at a distance of 75 Kms, South East of Kampala.
