South Sudan Vice President Riek Machar asks North Texas refugees to return home

South Sudan Vice President Riek Machar Teny, thanking the United States for helping South Sudan and Sudan come together to the negotiation table, had used the opportunity to welcome back the refugees in North Texas to return to their home.

Vice President Machar has spoken at the United Nations and has stayed back so as to interact with the South Sudanese in the region. He spoke at the at Peace Lutheran Church in Hurst. The locale has presented him with the Texas tradtional cowboy hat as a memento.

Machar said that the country gained independence in January 2011 and is fast recovering since then. He said that the dialogue and negotiations on borders with its neighbour Sudan are progressing.

The Vice-President asked to the refugees to return home and help rebuild their nation.
