The highest organ of the Judiciary of South Sudan is the Supreme Court of the Republic of South Sudan.

The Supreme Court of South Sudan consists of a President, Deputy President and five other Justices. Each panel has three justices on all matters except in cases of a Constitutional panel, all the members will be present.

President of Supreme Court: Justice Chan Reec Madut

August 16, 2011: President Salva Kiir Mayardit vide Presidential Decree relieved Justice John Woul Makec from the position of President of the Supreme Court of Southern Sudan. He appointed of Justice Chan Reec Madut as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of South Sudan
